Unboxing Wars March 2015 IPSY vs Birchbox

Yey! It's already time for me to review the products I got from my Ipsy and Birchbox. I love both subscriptions with just costing $10 a month and you get deluxe and most of the time full size samples to try out every month is a win win for me. I am trying to post my reviews later during the end of the month Because I wanted to try out the samples I got before I write up my review. So with out further a do here is what I got from IPSY this month.
Dr. Brandt Skincare pores no more anti-aging mattifying lotion
Sample size 0.26oz $9.18
Product Description
This oil-free, lightweight lotion is formulated with apple stem cells to help delay the natural signs of aging by maintaining the longevity and activity of stem cells in the skin. Simultaneously, retinol stimulates new cell turnover and improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Dr. Brandt’s multi-tasking formula provides the best of both worlds, delivering anti-aging and pore minimizing/mattifying benefits.
What I think so far...
I am not really looking for any anti-aging skincare products at the moment so I will be gifting this away maybe to my mom but I guess this would be ideal to mature skin types with oily skin since it has a mattifying effect.

Boo-Boo Cover-Up in Medium Shade
Sample size 0.13oz $10
Product Description
Have a Boo-Boo? Skip the bandage and the shiny ointment. Look your best even while you heal with Boo-Boo Cover-Up for face and body. Our innovative formula offers great coverage for skin imperfections while containing ingredients known in nature to promote healing.
What I think so far...
I really like this concealer matches my skin tone pretty well and it covers my blemishes easily and a little bit goes a long way so I think this tiny tube will last me a significant amount of time. I like that it doesn't cake up and also it blends well with my foundation so it looks natural on the skin.

VINTAGE by Jessica Liebeskind Illuminating Face Highlighter
Sample size? 0.07oz $3.5?
Product Description
Add a beautiful wash of color and subtle, sexy shimmer with the ILLUMINATING FACE HIGHLIGHTER. Created to be worn on top of fresh, dewy skin or as a delicate highlight over pretty blush – the reflective pearls add radiance on contact delivering a diamond-like finish to the skin.
Key Benefits
Illuminates the skin for a diamond-pink glow
Layers beautifully over powders and creams
Complements pink and pinky-coral blush shades
Works well on all skin types
Instructions for use
Sweep the Illuminating Face Highlighter on the apples of your cheeks and cheekbones after blush has been applied. For a luminescent glow, dust lightly over freshly hydrated skin on the forehead, cheeks, nose and chin.
What I think so far...
This is a very nice shade but I don't really incorporate a lot of illuminators or highlighters on my makeup so I just use this as an eyeshadow or brow bone highlighter, but I really like the shade of this it can compliment any skin tone. The shade of this looks like rose gold to me which is so pretty. ^.^

NYX Cosmetics Butter Lipstick in Hunk
Full size 0.16 oz $6
Product Description
Pamper your lips with a hydrating kiss of smooth Butter Lipstick in 22 luxurious shades. The delicate texture of satin fused with the high color saturation creates an even finish on lips that’s long-wearing and beautiful.
What I think so far...
I really love this lipsticks I have a few of them on my collection and thank goodness I still don't have this shade in my collection and I love it! I can't say its long wearing though as you need to reapply like for every 3 hours or so, or for every time you eat, but I love how moisturizing and pigmented it is.

pūr~lisse beauty
pūr~delicate gentle soymilk cleanser & makeup remover
Sample size 1oz $6.43
Product Description
Appreciate your skin, don’t irritate it. Cleanse the day away in one simple step with this sulfate-free blend of Soy Milk, Whole Oat and White Tea. This gentle cleanser leaves your face silky soft, without a trace of impurity. The 4-in-1 sulfate free & non-drying formula gently washes away dirt and makeup (even mascara!), while soothing and toning skin.

What I think so far...
I haven't tried using this alone for cleansing when I have makeup on but when I used this my face felt clean without drying it so, so far so good. I tested the pH level of this cleanser with my pH strips 3 times and I got a result of around pH 7 which is not bad, I tend to use cleanser up to pH 8. I was curious to test it out so that any one who are curious to know or anyone who are very specific about using cleansers with a certain pH level.

Here is what I got from my Birchbox this month! I must say that I am really loving what they are doing every month now with boxes its so creative and it makes very month really fun to open up and see the different patterns they put on every month.
It's a 10 Miracle Leave-in product
Sample size 2oz $9
Product Description
This 10-in-one treatment addresses the spectrum of hair damage, from bitterness to frizz. Smooth one to two spritzes into dry hair with your hands, then style. Use more for wet hair.
What I think so far...
I have been wanting to try out this product for the longest of time so when they offered this on the sample choice I picked it out immediately. I helped with the frizziness of my hair and really gave it moisture it needed especially the ends. What I don't really like about it is that when you spray it to your hair the product seems to not disperse out as I wanted it to be so I ended up spraying it to my palms then applying it to my hair. Another thing is also the smell it's really too overpowering floral scent that when I first applied it, it gave me a slight headache so I think the scent needs getting used to, but it eventually fades over time when you have applied it.

Evologie Intensive Blemish Serum
Sample size 10ml $23
Product Description
Innovative treatment that unclogs pores and restores skin with patent-pending YS3 COMPLEX. Twice daily, dab the serum directly onto spots, pimples, and scars. Follow with moisturizer.
What I think so far...
This smells strongly of tea tree and also I felt a cooling sensation when I was applying it on my skin, it absorbs fairly quickly and doesn't have a sticky residue after application. I have used this maybe only twice but I don't really see a difference on my zits and blemishes, maybe this needs more uses to see the effects but labeling it with the word "intensive" gave me so much expectation for this product, and I felt I don't really wanna waste so much of my time using it when it doesn't do anything for me at all, I already have a product that I have been using that does wonders for my zits and blemishes and the effect of that product is immediate so I think I will be tossing this one out. I was surprised also about the sample size they gave out which is around 10ml while the full size is 15ml which costs $35, your like paying for a lot of money and you get so little product, one that I don't really like about this also.

Etat Libre d'Orange Like This eau de parfum
Sample size 1.5ml $2.55
Product Description
Crafted in collaboration with Tilda Swinton, this lush scent makes an alluring statement. Spritz for a captivating blend of sweet, herbal, and citrus notes.
What I think so far...
I really didn't like the scent of this perfume may be its because of the ginger and pumpkin scent they mixed in with this I am not really liking the overall combination this turned out to be I swatches on my wrist and I didn't really appeal to me at all, so this is a miss for me.
Mirenesse Mattfinity Lip Rouge In Paris
Sample size 1.7g $7.04
Product Description
Velvety color with a modern matte finish. No need for lip liner: This stain stays put. Glide wand over lips. Wear as is for bright color, or blot for a subtler look.
What I think so far...
I really love the color that I got been wanting to try this out for a while now and I love it! you can do a subtle lip color with it or you can pile it on for fuller effect and it stains the lips so even though through out the day of wear you still have a stain in your lips. The photo below I took after around 5 hours of wear with eating and drinking included.

Vasanti Cosmetics BrightenUp! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator
Sample size 20g $5.67
Product Description
This customer gave mimics the effects of microdermabrasion for glowing, smooth skin. 3-5 times a week, massage a pea-sized amount into damp skin and rinse. For all skin types.
What I think so far...
I like mircrodermabrasion scrubs they make my skin smooth and this is no exception, I felt that this was more gentler than the one I used from Derma E. When it comes to physical exfoliants I used it less often like maybe 3 times a week only to avoid over exfoliating my skin. I tested the pH level for this 3 times also and the pH level result was around 7.5 to 8 but I think it leaning more towards 8 though.

TOTAL REVIEW
The total value of my Ipsy bag for February is around $35.11 I really love to get a full size nyx butter lipstick this month, while my Birchbox value is around $47.26. I really appreciate the curation of both sunscription but I think without a doubt that I really enjoyed the contents of my Ipsy bag this month.

Étude House Face Conditioning Light Review

Étude House Face Conditioning Cream Light

Product Description
This is a quick and easy makeup boosting cream that smoothly conditions skin with its light and soft texture for a makeup-ready complexion.

Directions
After applying toner, spread a certain amount of Face Conditioning Cream Light evenly onto face.

INGREDIENTS LIST
WATER, CYCLOPENTASILOXANE, CYCLOHEXASILOXANE, METHYL METHACRYLATE CROSSPOLYMER, ETHYLHEXYL METHOXYCINNAMATE, ALCOHOL, ISODODECANE, LAURYL PEG-9 POLYDIMETHYLSILOXYETHYL DIMETHICONE, DISTEARDIMONIUM HECTORITE, ARBUTIN, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, SODIUM CHLORIDE, SILICA, VINYL DIMETHICONE/METHICONE SILSESQUIOXANE CROSSPOLYMER, BEESWAX, TITANIUM DIOXIDE (CI 77891), ACRYLATES/ETHYLHEXYL ACRYLATE/DIMETHICONE METHACRYLATE COPOLYMER, GLYCERYL BEHENATE/EICOSADIOATE, PROPYLENE CARBONATE, DISODIUM EDTA, ADENOSINE, TRIETHYL CITRATE, MANNAN, ALUMINUM HYDROXIDE, TRIETHOXYCAPRYLYLSILANE, POLYSORBATE 80, HYDROGENATED LECITHIN, CAPRYLYL GLYCOL, PHENOXYETHANOL, FRAGRANCE

REVIEW

This product was recommended to me by blogger friend Sample Hime because of my oily skin. The texture of the cream when I apply it initially on my skin is that it feels velvety smooth and it glides onto the skin like a moisturizer then dries down to a matte finish. The pictures below you can see my bare face without the cream (left) then with the cream (right). One thing that I really liked about it is that it brightens up skin and removes any redness.

And after trying this product out I must say that I really love it! This is a moisturizer with SPF that doesn't leave a white cast and dries down to a matte finish, which is really perfect for my super oily skin. I wear this when am at work where I don't usually wear makeup in a daily basis but I still wanna wear sunblock, but then I don't wanna end up with a white pale face. Under makeup, I find that I still need to put my pore primer as this doesn't cover up my pores enough. As for the smell you can smell a little bit of the sunscreen but it's smell is being mask by a floral scent which doesn't really bother me. As a moisturizer, I am really impressed by this also it keeps my skin moisturized throughout the day and also feels soft and smooth to the touch.

Rating 10/10 this is a HOLY GRAIL for me right now

UPDATE: Sorry I forgot to include where you can buy this from. ^.^ You can check out Tester Korea and Beauty Net Korea which are sites that I have bought from and had a great experience on my purchases. But if you just wanna try only and not commit to a full size then you can definitely purchase from Tester Korea some sample packets of this here.

Have you tried this and liked it also? Or do you know of a product that similar to this? Leave a comment down below as I am really curious on trying out new products especially for oily skin types like mine.

Beauteque March 2015 BB Bag Review

So here is the March Beauteque Bag and the theme for this month is "Our Lips are Sealed" I like the bag this month also with lip marks all over the bag very fitting for the theme. Below you can see the description card with the 7 products that are included this month.
I received this bag free in exchange for my 100% honest review. The BB bag is a subscription bag where you will receive 7 full sized luxury products with at total value of $65-85 in each bag. The products are a combination of beauty, skincare and lifestyle products. They ship anywhere in the USA, Canada, and Europe.
You can subscribe the monthly bag here.
Each bag costs:
$24 + shipping for 1 month or for 3 months subscriptions
$23 + shipping  for 6 months subscriptions
$22 + shipping for 12 months subscriptions
Shipping charges:
$3.95 for USA
$5.95 for Canada
$8.95 for Europe

A'pieu Take My Hands Nail Sheet Pack in Avocado
Full size $5
What I think so far...
I have never tried a nail mask before but I did enjoy the hand masks from a previous bag so I am excited to try this out and see what it will do to my nails. The essence smells nothing like avocado but a sweet floral smell. The individual finger sheets fits nicely although the one for the thumb was tight on my fingers. There was enough essence that 15 mins was not enough to soak all the product. My nails felt soft and moisturized after the treatment over all I really liked it. ^.^

Tony Moly Mini Bling Pocket Hair Pack
Full size $3
What I think so far...
I think you can either get a hair mask or hair pack randomly but I got the hair pack. I am not sure though if this applies to dry or damp hair but I assume dry hair as it is a kind of a leave on conditioner type of treatment. The hair cap was only enough to soak the ends of the my hair and since I have long hair only the end was completely soaked when I removed the cap. Although nothing was noticeably different in the picture my hair felt smooth and moisturized when I ran my fingers through it. I wish though that there was enough products to cover my whole hair or I would rather use a hair mask instead.

The Face Shop Rice Ceramide Toner
Full size $14
What I think so far...
I like Ceramide because it strengthens the protective barrier of the skin. I am excited to try this out as a toner as I am still in search for a good toner. I tested out the pH and the color seems to be leaning toward ph 5 than ph 6 or maybe between them which is good since the skin's pH is around 5.5.
Beauteque Pore Control Blackhead Brush
Full size $15
What I think so far...
The bristles are really soft and it doesn't feel harsh to the skin when I used it. Although I can't say if it helps because I mostly have sebaceous filaments than black heads and white heads on my nose but I will keep on using it still to exfoliate my nose.

Mizon Modeling Cup
Full size $8
What I think so far...
I have seen this mask before you put water to mix with the powder and it turns to a clay like texture that you put on your face and peel off when it gets dry, kinda reminds me when mixing cornstarch with a little bit of water. Be careful when you put on the mask, as its messy and don't let any of it go on your hair, its very hard to come off when it dries. I suggest that you do this mask before you shower so it easy to remove some bits that you can't peel. I really liked the peeling part and I felt it tighten my pores too a little bit and also my skin felt soft and smooth after the mask. This is a very fun mask to try out but its quit messy so be careful.

The Face Shop Massage Cream
Full size $12
What I think so far...
This cream contains Vitamin B which it says to revitalize and refresh the skin. I had never tried a product like this but I think this is like a cleansing cream that you massage on your face and rinse out with a cleanser. I think it removes makeup fairly well with irritating the skin and it has a slight herb smell to it but nothing too overpowering. I like that this is also easy to carry for travel purposes than oil cleansers, as I usually take my oil balms when at work so this is definitely going to one of my work travel bag essentials.

Étude House Look at my eyes cafe eyeshadow in Sweet Potato Latte
Full size $9.50
What I think so far...
This is the only make up item I the bag and it feels like it's an odd one out item together with the others, but I really like the color I picked out am looking forward on using it. The color looks like a taupe plum color this would be really good for a smookey eye or as a crease shadow.

TOTAL REVIEW
The total value of the bag is $66.50 which is not so bad but I think this is the lowest value BB bag I got out of all that I have received since January. I still really liked the contents of the bag but I think it still misses something like adding a lipstick or lip treatments also since the theme is Our lips are sealed so I would kinda expect something for my lips as well. Over all I really enjoyed everything included in the bag. ^.^

My 3B Box February 2015 Review

I recently heard of a new asian beauty box called 3B box which is like an Korean version of IPSY or Birchbox where you get 5 sample size of Korean skincare and beauty products. You can learn more about the company here. The bag is a recurring subscription every month for $12 with shipping included. I think this is only available for USA but hopefull they will expand the shipping to Canada and nearby countries as well. Since the company is still new they cannot accommodate a lot at the moment so some new subscribers will have to go on a waitlist. I just got off the waitlist and recieved my February bag and I was super busy last month that I am only writing my blog post for this now.
Its really helpful that they provide a description card which lists all the products with brief description and how to use it.
Here is what I got for the February 3B Box.

Banila Co. Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm
I really love this balm I purchased it from TesterKorea a few months back I really love it! This is perfect for travel so it was nice receiving this in box as well.

Mizon Snail Repair Eye Cream
I really liked Mizon as a brand and I have tried a few products from them so I am excited to try this eye cream I always wanted to try their snail repair product line. This product contains 80% snail mucin but its said to be cruelty-free so no snails have been harmed in making this product.

Etude House Collagen Moistfull Essence
I have tried the Moist full cream from Etude House and it was a really very moisturizing cream although I bit of a heavier for my oily skin so I prefer using it for a night cream but I have not tried the essence from that product line so I a glad I got this as well.

Skinfood Oil Control Film Sheets
As someone with an oily skin I always have oil film sheets on hand in my makeup bag so this is very useful for me as back up since I use it so often.

Laneige Perfect Pore Cleansing Oil
I love my BB cushion from this brand and I have never tried the other product from their brand before, I love that I can try this out as I have recently been doing double cleansing for my night time skin care routine with either my oil balms or cleansing oil. This is said to contain coconut oil which I have heard is a great makeup remover. And since this is a sample size I can take it with me in my work travel bag.

TOTAL REVIEW
I am really loving how affordable this subscripton box is and you get to try out asian beauty and skin care products. I love trying out samples as its very hard to splurge on a full size product with out even swatching or trying it out first. I am looking forward in receiving my March box! ^.^ If you are a Korean beauty junkie like me or a newbie in the Korean beauty sphere I think this would be a great way to explore different brands and products without breaking your bank. ^.^

What I think so far...
I love this eye makeup remover it removed my waterproof Clio liners without any problems and without stinging my eyes! I will definitely repurchase this in full size as I really love it I am glad I picked this out as my sample choice.

And here is what I got from my February Ipsy bag.

Gently peel mask off, starting at contours and slowly peeling until completely removed. Re-apply a light moisturizer to facial skin.
What I think so far...
This is a very interesting product I am will using this and see if this works out to my skin I like using peel of masks as ut helps in diminishing the appearance of my blemishes.

Eva NYC Up All Night Volumizing Spray
Deluxe size 1 fl oz $3
Get the ultimate blowout with this multi-tasking spray! The light-weight formula adds volume and texture to hair, while protecting against heat for healthier styling. Apply to damp hair before blow drying for added texture and lift, or use on dry hair as a revitalizing spray.
What I think so far...
I usually don't style my hair that often so I think I wont be using this a lot but only for occasions that I will be styling my hair. But this product sounds interesting coz its not only a heat protectant but also a volumizing spray as well.
ModelCo BLUSH Cheek Powder in Peach Bellini

"Pencil Me In" Cosmetics Natural Eye Liner Pencil

The "Pencil Me In" Natural Eye Liner Pencils formula is highly pigmented, so it doesn't fade throughout the day and last for hours. Its application is silky smooth without pulling your delicate skin. It can be applied above and below your eye to bring dramatic effects, and to enhance both day and evening looks. Each pencil has a convenient sharpener built into every pencil cap!
What I think so far...
This pencil is definitely highly pigmented and it has a texture of a gel liner haven't used it yet but I love the shade that I got.

CARGO Cosmetics Mini Lip Gloss in Anguilla
Deluxe size 4.5g $8?

A new generation of Cargo’s lip gloss. Its super high shine gloss delivers intense color payoff and locks in moisture to keep lips feeling hydrated. This long wearing lip gloss has a slick texture that feels creamy gliding over lips without being sticky. Ingredients such as Vitamin E and Jojoba Seed oil help increase lip moisture and decrease the appearance of furrows around the mouth while increasing lip volume to its maximum fullness.
What I think so far...
I am confused about calling this a deluxe size because in the Cargo website their lip glosses are only 2.5ml or 2.5g but this lists as 4.5g so maybe there is an error on the website about the product weight so I just assume half the price of the full size product. I am not really loving the smell and taste of this lip gloss it tastes like plastic to me and also the color is too pale that it too weird for my skint one so I will not be using this at all and just toss it in the trash.

TOTAL REVIEW
The total value of my Birchbox for February is around $25.95 I really love the sample choice I picked out and am so happy to get a full size eyeko eyeliner, while my Ipsy bag value is around $34.99 which I really liked everything in the bag except the lip gloss. It is really hard to choose between the two as I really like what I got from both subscription.

Memebox Special #47 My Dessert box Unboxing Review

I missed this box a few times when it was restocked but I finally got it. I really wanted to get some of the products in this box so I grabbed during the review sale and this is the third and last box I am gonna review for the review sale restocks that I got.

Box Description
Nothing says cute like beauty trinkets that resemble your favorite sweet desserts! If you're a sucker for over-the-top embellished beauty essentials that look like your favorite sweet treat, you're in the right place! Yea, you're all grown-up and lead a sophisticated life and all, but sometimes, you've got to show some love to your inner nine-year old girl. What better way to show that love than to shower yourself with yummy beauty treats that look, feel or smell like your favorite sweet desserts! Plus, these cute-as-a-muffin beauty trinkets are dual-purpose- they're useful and they're also really, really great props for instagram. We promise.
Delskin: Skin Juice90 Real Ampoule
(Full Size Product: $30
What I think so far...
This ampoule is said to contain 90% concentrated vitamin rich fruit and veggie juice from strawberry, lime, raspberry, lemon, mango, apricot, orange, grapefruit, kiwi, papaya, broccoli, cucumber, and carrot.I love the citrus orange smell of this and I badly need an ampoule so this is really perfect that's why I decided to buy a restock of this box. So far it's perfect for my oily skin as its lightweight and absorbs quickly to the skin and I combine this to whatever moisturizer I am using.
Carver Korea: Le Petit Prince Creme
(Full Size Product: $46)
What I think so far...
This cream is a collaboration product with a famous Korean male beauty blogger 'Petit Prince' and it's not just a moisturizer but also a toner, emulsion, ampoule all pack in one multi-cream. The consistency of this product amazes me it looks and feels like jell-o. But it's very moisturizing on the skin I have oily skin so I think I can only use this for my nighttime skincare.
Navillera: Traditional Dessert Soap
(Full Size Product: $5)
 What I think so far...
This soap looks so pretty that I cannot bear to use it! This soap is hand crafted into a shape of a Japanese traditional sweet dessert. I really like that it's formulated with only natural ingredients such as aroma essential oil, centella asiatica, sweet pumpkin, cacao, wormwood powders, camellia oil, etc.
It's Skin: Cookie and Hand Cream in "Strawberry"
(Full Size Product: $9)
What I think so far...
This smells really delicious that I am fighting the urge to eat it! It doesn't just smell good it feels great on the skin too very moisturizing. The over all look of the product is that it looks like it has cookie chunks in them which are responsible for the moisturizing and silky finish when applied to the hands.
Shara Shara: Lemon Tea Pore Stick
(Full Size Product: $12)
What I think so far...
This feels like a balm type of primer. It makes my skin matte after application but I have not been able to use this under make up yet. Although I find that it doesn't blur out the pores enough for my liking so I don't think I will be using this much.
Dearberry: Single Scoop Blusher in "Chiffon Pink"
(Full Size Product: $11)
What I think so far...
This blush has a cream to powder finish but more leaning towards cream. I am not really a fan of this type of blushes but I do like the color. So I think I will give this away to friend.

TOTAL REVIEW
The total value of this box is $113 but I only paid $23 plus shipping for this which is also a pretty great deal. I find that only the dessert soap and cookie hand cream gave the impression of dessert this would be really great if they did put cute dessert shape packaged products in this box not just ingredients that you can find on desserts. Although I still really like the contents of the box with the exemption of the blush and pore stick. I wish Memebox would curate high value boxes for cheaper price like this again it seems more boring now with the boxes that they are coming up with.
